Continetial Drift/Seafloor Spreading by Decemberlyn

Continental drift is when all the continents drifted apart. When all the continent were all together it was call Pangaea.

Identify 4 evidences the helped prove the continents where moving and explain each one.

1. Mountain Ranges - The same type of rock forms are found on two different mountain ranges on two different continents.
2. Puzzle - The continents look like puzzle pieces, that they would fit together.
3. Fossils - The same fossils are found in two different continents.
4. Weather - Where its tropical it was cold. Where it was cold it was tropical

Seafloor Spreading is

Identify 2 evidences that helped prove the sea floor was growing and explain each one.

1. Harry Hess proposed that hot, less dense material below Earth’s crust rises toward the surface at the mid-ocean ridges. Then, it flows sideways, carrying the seafloor away from the ridge in both directions. How was this proved?

2. Iron materials found in the ocean floor at different times in history were pointing in different directions. These are called what?

  1. Decemberlyn I think that your blog is great, however I think you could add more about continental drift. I think you could add about Alfred Wegner.
