Continental Drifting/Seafloor Spreading

Identify 4 evidences the helped prove the continents where moving and explain each one.

What is continental drift?
1. Continents Fit Together: Wegener realized that the continents looked like they fit together like  puzzle pieces.
2. Glaciers: Evidence that there were glaciers moving over the tropical rain forests and there were tropical rain forests in the colder climates today.
3. Climate: Wegener found evidence that the Pangea was not all covered in ice.
4. Mountains: They found the same kind of mountains/rocks in two different areas of the world, which would be unusual unless at one time they were connected.

Seafloor Spreading-Explain it.

Identify 2 evidences that helped prove the sea floor was growing and explain each one.

1. Age: When new crust is formed the age of the crust around it is older.
2. Magnetic Reversal: The poles change direction when seafloor spreading takes places which happens to be magnetic reversal.
