We got 2 beakers and had a little Bunson Burners under them.
On the one to the right we put blue food coloring it. On the one of the left we
put green food coloring in it. We then broke off little pieces of Styrofoam and
put them in each beaker. We then watched it and based it off of convection
currents.
My
observation is that the left beaker, which was smaller then the right one, had
the Styrofoam went to a fixated place and had bubbles go towards them. I think
since that beaker was less dense it had it’s own little form of convection
currents happen. The one on the right didn’t work because it was denser and
stuff.
We
did this to have a explanation on how convection currents work and to have our
own little version of it so we can see it first hand. We also did it so we
could have fun and learn at the same time. Yeah. Yeeeeeeah.
