Vocabulary in Action Chapter 24- Section 1


Biosphere- The Earth as a whole. All living things and their environment, including the air and water surrounding them. The biosphere includes the top of the earth's crust, all of the water that covers the earth's surface, and the atmosphere that's around earth. 


Biotic- Biotic is all living things. Organisms that get nutrients, perform metabolism, produce energy, and can move about in its surrounding area.  Biotic can be anything that has lived or that is still living.












Habitat- Habitat is the place an animal or organism lives. It's the animals house or it's environment. This is a bird hole where a bird would live, store its food, and possibly have a family.

Abiotic- Abiotic are non-living components. Abiotic is any non-living part of the environment such as rock, soil, sun, wind and oxygen. This is a picture of dirt, it helps ants make there homes to live in. Even if it is non-living it still helps animals.
