*Identify Symbiosis*

The symbiosis(interaction between two different organisms living in close physical association. Typically to the advantage of both) of the rotting log would be mutualism(is beneficial to both organisms involved), because it benefits the rotting log and the lichen growing on it. One of a lichens importance is that it makes everything look like it has life; without lichens everything would look boring and lifeless. A second reason lichens are helpful is that they provide a mode of survival in harsh environments where algae cannot usually survive. Logs start to rot when fungus’s start to attack it and with the help of the sun and temperatures.
